Physiology

Physiology is the study of the natural phenomena of life. The physiology of the human body, therefore, concerns how the body of a healthy person functions. The human body consists of approximately forty trillion cells. Each of these cells is an independent unit. Working together with all the other cells, they help create a body—a human being—with its own thoughts, feelings, and identity. This section covers the topics of blood and the circulatory system, the heart, and the nervous system. The compendium also includes sports injuries and stretching.
